|
Features:
- Quantitative spray pattern measurements
- Non-intrusive
- High resolution
- Wide range of liquid and solid sprays
<;i>No doping required
- On-line capability
- Compact, portable, durable design
- Fast, efficient, timely results
Applications:
- Engineering research
- Production quality control
- Spray process monitoring
Operating Principles:
The OSPA Optical Spray Pattern Analyzer illuminates the selected cross section of the spray using a laser light sheet. Light attenuation through the spray is measured for 16 beam trajectories, while a CCD camera simultaneously photographs light scattered from the illuminated droplets. The light intensity at a given location on the CCD camera image is relative to the local intensity of the laser light sheet and the number of droplets passing through the sheet. The signals from the 16 photodetectors allow the proprietary software to determine the local laser light intensity at each location in the spray. The CCD camera signal can then be interpreted to determine the distribution of droplets in the light sheet. Calibration for base light intensity and any non-uniformity of the light sheet is carried out with no spray present.
OSPA 100
In addition to proprietary hardware and software, the OSPA 100 features commercial components including:
- 100 mW integrated laser module
- high resolution CCD camera
- N.I. data acquisition board
- Matrox video capture board
- Intel-based dedicated fast PC
The component layout can be custom designed to suit customer requirements. Standard CCD camera takes data at 30/60 frames per second, exposure time can be adjusted from 1/30 to 1/2000 second. Specialized software, engineering support and consulting are available.
OSPA 210
High speed video allows higher temporal resolution of analysis. Components include:
- 150 mW integrated laser module
- 500 fps CCD camera
- Matrox INSPECTOR image analysis software
- N.I. data acquisition board
- Intel-based dedicated fast PC
The component layout can be custom designed to suit customer requirements. The standard CCD camera takes data at 500 frames per second in analysis mode with 2 seconds normal recording time. Specialized
software, engineering support and consulting are available.
